One of the most visited cities in the USA, Washington, D.C. offers a variety of interesting experiences, from learning about American history and government to seeing many of the most iconic sights in the country. This vibrant city is also home to great food, art, cultural attractions and much more. This annual trip is a great tradition of the Northwestern Middle School. Designed by the staff to ensure the pace is equivalent to the students and their desire to learn about our great country and its rich history.
Stepping out of the classroom and discovering Washington, D.C. in person with guided tours will help bring history to life for your child as he/she develops a strong sense of patriotism, seeing firsthand the importance and energy of our nation’s capital. Your student will enjoy two full days in Washington, D.C., learning about our nation’s history and government. Some highlights of the trip include:
- Watching the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington Cemetery
- Touring the United States Capital Building
- Paying tribute at the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial
