Dear IUSD Alumni,

We hope you will join other Indiana University School of Dentistry alumni and friends on our 7-night Canada/New England Cruise. We enjoyed a wonderful trip to the Caribbean this year but are now turning our sights to the beauty of Canada and our Eastern Coast.

The cruise is Saturday, September 28 through Saturday, October 5, 2024. It is an opportunity in the fall to experience extraordinary views, historic sites, beautiful landscapes, and stunning shores. We are excited about the destinations and the opportunities we have for you to enjoy the camaraderie of traveling with your fellow alumni. Holland America is a premier cruise line offering spaciousness and elegance with fewer guests and more personal attention. It has a wide variety of amenities and activities, along with the freedom to do as you please.

We will be departing from Quebec City, Canda, with the following ports of call: Prince Edward Island, Sydney, Nova Scotia, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Bar Harbor, Maine, and finally Boston, Massachusetts. One day will be spent sailing the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

As a festive way to begin our trip, we will have an alumni welcoming reception on board hosted by the Dean and the Alumni Association. At the conclusion of our cruise, we will have our farewell reception. There will be 10 hours of continuing education on the ship and the opportunity for an additional 10 hours of self-study.

It is the goal of the IUSD and its Alumni Association to give you exceptional value including stateroom, continuing education, and cocktail parties for a very reasonable price.

Continuing Education

Continuing education opportunities will be offered onboard Holland America’s Zuiderdam. The topics presented will be pertinent to dentists, hygienists, and other dental professionals. Continuing education opportunities will include ten (10) hours of shipboard lecture and opportunities for up to ten (10) hours of self-study for a total of 20 potential hours. We are excited about the destinations and opportunities you’ll have to enjoy the camaraderie of traveling with fellow alumni. Veranda Stateroom (Category VA): $2,829 per person / double occupancy

Filled with light from floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a private verandah, these staterooms include a sitting area, Holland America’s signature Mariner’s Dream™ bed with plush Euro-Top mattresses, and a bath tub with premium massage showerheads.

Signature Suite (Category SS): $3,804 per person / double occupancy

These large, comfortable suites feature a spacious sitting area with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a private verandah, Holland America’s signature Mariner’s Dream™ bed with plush Euro-Top mattresses, and one murphy bed for one person. The bathroom includes a dual-sink vanity, full-size whirlpool bath and shower, and an additional shower stall.

Individual Cancellation Schedule

Grueninger is required to pay all suppliers well in advance of your tour date. All suppliers have their own cancellation policies, which apply to your booking. Should a cancellation become necessary, please inform Grueninger immediately in writing and request a written confirmation of your cancellation. Upon, receipt, Grueninger will follow industry procedures for any applicable refunds as outlined in the supplier’s terms and subject to their review. If you are entitled to a refund, please note that the supplier is responsible for the amount and timing of the refund, not Grueninger. Generally, flight tickets, cruise fare, hotel reservation and other items provided for the traveler cannot be refunded if they are partially used. Grueninger is not responsible for a supplier’s failure to pay a refund.

In the event of group size reduction, the following schedule will apply using the estimated individual package cost and any non-recoverable costs set forth by Grueninger for the purpose of acquiring vendor services:

Up to 90 days prior to travel 0% cruise fees, hotel room fees, and any non-refundable vendor or incurred costs

From 89 days to 76 days 25% of per person trip cost plus any non-refundable vendor or incurred costs

From 75 days to 61 days 50% of per person trip cost plus any non-refundable vendor or incurred costs

From 60 days to 31 days 75% of per person trip cost plus any non-refundable vendor or incurred costs

From 30 days to 0 days 100% of the per person trip cost
